Description
The SMARTEMP ISF-AD Inclined Floor-Swirl Diffuser is a highly-flexible, premium floor supply solution engineered for modern under-floor air distribution (UFAD) and raised-access floor systems. With a patent-pending design, the ISF-AD offers three distinct levels of personal comfort control:
- Discharge pattern – switch between a vertical plume and an inclined air stream, so occupants can select a gentle dispersed flow or a more directed breeze.
- Air direction – the inclined discharge can be rotated by the user towards or away from the occupant to fine-tune air motion within the micro-climate.
- Airflow rate – users can increase or reduce the volume of supply air to adapt their personal cooling or heating comfort. Alternatively, the unit can be factory-configured to fixed or limited airflow adjustment.

- Low profile: 97 mm depth (FFL) without actuator, or 170 mm with optional electric VAV actuator – ideal where floor plenum height is constrained.
- Wide operating airflow range: 10-55 L/s (36-198 m³/h) at DN200 nominal diameter, making the ISF-AD suitable for a variety of floor-supply applications.
- Constant throw height even when airflow is reduced (either manually or via VAV), eliminating the common “cold feet / warm head” discomfort experienced with many floor diffusers.
- Displacement cooling capability: floor-level supply with upward swirl discharge supports stratification of heat and contaminants, improving occupant comfort, reducing draughts, and enabling higher supply air temperatures and lower fan energy consumption.
- Effective for both cooling and heating modes: the floor-level swirl discharge excels at scavenging cooler air and thoroughly mixing warmer supply air in heating applications.
- Flexible configuration: the diffuser can be supplied as fully user-adjustable (pattern, direction and airflow), or factory set/locked (for pattern or airflow) where user-adjustment isn’t desired. This supports office fit-outs, tenancy changes and base-building flexibility.
- Aesthetics and finishes: available in a plastic (polycarbonate) face dyed grey or to a custom colour, or a cast aluminium face (shot-blasted or powder-coated/polished). The face pattern is circular (200 mm nominal diameter) with radial outer slots and concentric inner slots for a clean architectural look.
- Optional electric actuator VAV kit: 24 V AC/DC powered with 2-10 V analogue control input, integrates with BMS for demand-controlled ventilation while still preserving user-adjustable pattern and direction.
