The SMARTEMP ADS-FD has been purpose-designed for installation in the vertical face of steps or staircases beneath fixed seating in either auditoria or lecture-theatres. Its unique configuration supports a low-velocity, slightly upward-inclined discharge pattern from a perforated metal face, creating a gentle “lake” of conditioned air at floor level around each occupant, while heat and contaminants are carried upward and away via convective plumes.
Because the air is supplied at a relatively high temperature (typically ~19 °C) and delivered at very low velocity (≤ 60 L/(s·m) / 216 m³/(h·m)), the ADS-FD avoids draughts at ankle level—making it ideal for professional-education or performance venues where occupant comfort and acoustics matter.
Key features include:
- Rectangular face standard size: 120 mm high × 500 mm wide. Custom heights from 100 mm up to 300 mm available.
- Perforated metal face (round holes in 60° stagger). Bespoke patterns available on request.
- Aluminium frame and powder-coated galvanised steel face. Colour finish to specification.
- Ultra-quiet operation: sound power level (Lw) ≤ 15 dB(A) for virtually silent performance.
- Discharge pattern fixed horizontal-to-upwards to minimise air velocity in ankle zone and maintain occupant comfort.
- Optimised for a displacement-ventilation strategy: delivers high thermal stratification, reduces fan energy, extends free-cooling range and improves ventilation effectiveness.
