Seismic Rubber Mounts

Air Diffusion is at the forefront of designing innovative seismic restraint components which serve to limit the movement of equipment and to keep the equipment captive during a seismic event.

Seismic rubber mounts protect mechanical equipment from the extreme forces of a seismic event while providing superior vibration isolation during normal operation.

We have rigorously tested these seismic mounts to AS60068.3.3 standards (see video below). In addition, the patented height adjustment mechanism provides maximum flexibility for positioning and installation. With a range of sizes and rubber hardness options available, these mounts offer an optimal solution for a wide variety of mechanical installations. When correctly selected and installed, seismic rubber mounts help meet the design requirements of AS 1170.4, NZS4219, and other international seismic standards.

Warranty & Installation

We supply all seismic mounts with a three (3) year parts-only warranty. This warranty applies only to the original invoice value of the supplied product and does not cover labour, installation, removal, or any other consequential costs.

To maintain warranty validity, installers must follow the manufacturer’s installation recommendations.

Vibration isolated and resilient mountings

Components mounted on vibration isolators shall have a bumper or snubber in each orthogonal direction, and vertical restraints shall be provided, where required, to resist overturning.

Snubbers and their fixings must resist the dynamic impact forces that components generate during an earthquake. Associated connections and piping shall have flexible connections to reduce the potential for damage.

Note:

  1. Ensure all vibration isolation mounts have approval for seismic applications.
  2. Select a mount with an appropriate load rating to support the equipment weight and accommodate the ground gradient.
  3. When mounting plant on roofs ensure appropriate building structure is provided to mount item and seismic fixings.
  4. The mount must not under seismic action dislodge or come apart.
  5. All mounts must be fixed to appropriately rated building structure.

Rigorous Testing

These seismic mounts have been rigorously tested to AS60068.3.3 and the patented method for adjustability allows the ultimate flexibility in height positioning and adjustment. With multiple sizes and rubber hardness, there is an optimum solution for all types of mechanical installations. When selected correctly, these seismic mounts are designed to suit the design requirements of AS 1170.4, NZS4219 and other international seismic standards.
