Filter pads clean and cool the air that flows through your evaporative air conditioner. The pads capture dust and other airborne particles while adding moisture to the airflow, helping the system deliver efficient and effective cooling. As filter pads wear out, cooling performance declines, forcing the unit to work harder and increasing the risk of reduced airflow or system failure.
Woodwool filter pads consist of shredded wood fibres compressed into pads typically 30–50 mm thick. These pads sit inside the louvres of the evaporative cooler, where they absorb water and cool incoming air through the evaporation process. Woodwool evaporative cooler pads are commonly used in older model air conditioners. Depending on water quality and operating conditions, woodwool filter pads typically provide reliable performance for 1–2 years before requiring replacement.
