The TEK248 and TEK297 were related control box models used in two-speed, three-speed and variable speed evaporative cooling systems. If your system uses a variable speed motor and TEK297 control box, the recommended replacement is a complete low voltage control upgrade comprising the TEK7EC Control Box, TEK7DAT Digital Wall Control and TEK400WL Loom. No direct replacement is available for TEK248 two-speed or three-speed motor applications.
The Tekelek TEK297/248 Control Box was designed to control compatible evaporative cooling systems and was commonly used across a range of Braemar, Coolair and Coolbreeze units. The TEK297 variant supported hybrid variable speed operation, while the TEK248 version was used in two-speed and three-speed applications.
